Dear E3…

It’s Candace again, I wanted to tell you that I love you very much. You are the one time of year that I feel like it’s Christmas all over again (forget actual Christmas). I have been spending the last few weeks finishing up some E3 madness at work and preparing my mind for your all encompassing greatness.

I know that I work and time to do cool things will be minimal, but these are the things I am looking forward to and why…

BioShock: Infinite - This one is a no brainer, I am obsessed with Bioshock (even though 2 was really strange). It is my hope that Infinite will redeem itself, secretly I worry that it wont.

The Darkness II - The original Darkness was the first video game that ever made me cry. I can’t wait for the next one and the art style is to die for.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - I have poured almost half my life into Bethesda’s library. My only hope is that I will at least get close to completing New Vegas before Skyrim’s launch or I am screwed.

Dead Island - The game looks fantastic, but my worry is that they won’t pull of the gameplay the right way. This is a whole new direction for Deep Silver and is far different from their current library of games. This is a great risk and I really hope the outcome is a great game.

Tomb Raider - Although I have played almost all of the Tomb Raider franchise, I consider this reboot a fresh start. I want to go into it with an unbiased view, I never hated the Lara Croft, but I have never loved her either. I want to love her… hopefully this game will do that for me.

Star Wars: The Old Republic - I am obsessed with Star Wars, so much so I am part of the 501st Legion as an Expanded Universe character (Visas Marr from KOTOR 2). I can’t wait for this MMO and my hopes for this is that it will play in the classic style of KOTOR (or at least an upgraded version) with all of the excitement that those games brought me.

BloodRayne: Betrayal - I don’t like the direction Majesco went with BloodRayne. I hate it in fact, but my hope is that this game will be good nonetheless. The fact that they are breathing new life into Rayne is enough for me. I just wish it had been in the form of a 3D campy bloodfest, not a 2D one.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - I love the Legend of Zelda, but I haven’t really enjoyed them since Ocarina of Time (still haven’t played Twilight Princess, to be honest so I don’t know about that one). I am looking forward to this, but trying not to get my hopes up about it because of the fact that it keeps getting teased and we have no real news about it. If it is on the “Project Cafe” system, I would love to see it in (hopefully) HD. Don’t get me wrong, the Wii is fun… but it’s not a system I want to sit down at and really invest time into with the Wii Remote being what it is.

Aliens: Colonial Marines - I grew up with 3 movies when I was little: Beetlejuice, Ghostbusters and the Alien franchise. I love everything from Facehuggers to Ripley and I am really hoping this will take the story to a whole new level. I don’t know what to expect, but I expect it to be good.

Mass Effect 3 - Just today we are hearing rumors of ME3 being compatible with Kinect, my hope for this is that it will be for “mini games” such as repair jobs, planet surveying, Mako styled missions and nothing else. Unless they can realistically make the Kinect work flawlessly in battles… I do not want! Other than that, what isn’t there to be excited about. I just hope the story lives up to the first two.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations - Brotherhood is currently in my massive backlog of games, so I am getting to it. I have not been disappointed in AC so far and I am pretty sure I wont be in this one. I expect the gameplay to be the same as before, it’s mostly the story I am looking forward to.

Batman: Arkham City - Catwoman… duh.

Modern Warfare 3 - I am kind of expecting this to be at E3 even though some of the gaming news sites don’t have it listed as an E3 game. I expect it to be just as good as the rest.

Just thought you should know.

Love <3,

Candace
